70th anniversary of the D-Day landings.

I am sure you are all watching it on TV.

My Grandfather, William Stokes, was at both the evacuation of Dunkirk and also in the D-Day landings as a REME.

He was born on 6 June, 1913. My Quake2 D-Day nick 'Bill Stokes' always reflected that. My avatar is my actual grandfather aged around 5/6 years old (nobody knows where and when it was taken), and as he was obviously brought up around the end of the first world war, he is dressed as an 'officer' with a 'baton' (some people think it is a pipe, but it isn't. it's the head of a baton held under his arm).

Some fantastic stuff going on here in Portsmouth, England. It really brings tears to my eyes.

THANK YOU to all the men and women that gave their lives for us to live such better times.

Nick
