ugg.. uh yeah.. i just registered at these forums to give a heads up as to what is going on in ww2ol for those who are curious.

v1.18 has just been released, and ww2ol now includeds Paratroopers!

Some of the features that are also new, are Mobile spawning - The ability to deploy transport trucks, and make them spawnable for infantry.

Tier2 tanks and fighters have been added. Among these are the PanzerIVg, StuGIIIg, M4A4 Sherman for tanks. The SpitIX, Lockheed P38, and FW190a4 have been added for fighters. The long list of features and fixes that have been added since you people probably last heard of it is.. well. really long. Visual damage models for all vehicles (you can see parts get blown off) new guns, new classes, new environment, lots and lots of new things that I dont care to attempt to list.

ww2ol will also be re-releasing RETAIL soon, listed as "Beyond Blitzkreig: vol1"
Its volume 1, because the North Africa campaign is already being worked on with a whole new engine (TerrainII) that will allow for some awsome effects. Italians will be introduced with North africa as well.

WW2 Online is a wicked game. I played it for about 7 months, but I cancelled because the subscription was costing me too much. If you can afford it, go for it because it's alot of fun.

Basicly that means, that if you have had an account previously, you get to play the game for free for a few days. Do check it out if you can.

The game is a free download if you want to mess around offline and see how it runs, or just play with the vehicles. Filesize is about 200mb for windows and mac.

So far, I have spent roughly 288 dollars (12 bucks a month) for the 2 years I have been playing ww2ol. It seems like a lot, but its worth it. You pay 40-60 bucks for a retail game like doom3, bf42, etc etc, and it only keeps your attention for a month, MAYBE 2. If you buy a new game every 2 months, you end up spending 600 bucks in 2 years. Id say I got my moneys worth.

20 bucks your first month (includes pay for cdkey) and 12 bucks a month after that. Usualy people try the game for a month and find out that they become addicted. There is also free trials every now and then. There arent any free trials going on at the moment though.

It's 12 US dollars a month. It costs more for a Canadian player because of exchange rates. Not everyone can spend over 200$ a year for a video game. It's also very time consuming. If the game is still around after I graduate, then I might give it another go.
