I forgot to add env in the last version. Since version 0.3 you'll automatically update.

I turned off checksums. They apparently take too long to calculate so I'm no longer using that option.

Again, mappers contact me about distributing your maps.

Sorry for being a little silly... But I'm back to dday and there has been a lot of changes since I left it...

Im trying to rsync my dday and I can't.
: No adress associated with hostname
I think its by the hours you said

I live in GMT+1... and I don't know the conversions of the times but
But I can't leave my computer running on the night or morning
so any mirror or something to rsync??

Well I can open it back up then. IM me if you having troubles or so. I've noticed some bugs since I remotely restarted that box. I'm at college and the server is at home which is 28 miles.

I had been updating both of my servers with rsync, but if I'm the only one then is it really worth it?
I would still use it, but does one player/server owner warrant you doing all that work? Thats up to you Dirk. Thanks for setting it up in the first place though!

Well you and Quakeroats make 2. I do need to put all the files back on it. It is lacking a lot of maps and textures right now.

Get this stuff guys!!!

Nobody has such maps as beyond or subway. Anything else than the major campaigns and the server is empty.

Is there any interest in the community for me to actually bring the rsync server back?

Yes. I think there is....
If you put your intentions in more layman's terms. So everyone understands this idea.
+ cooridinate with Stormwolf. I believe he is gathering a comprehensive collection. And more than likely..he will be thorough.
A question i have...
Will this update both player/object .md2s and their associated .pcx skins? Including sprites?
How about team .dlls?

The intention is to sync and unify all the server files at least for all textures, sounds, and models.

This can be done for players also who do not want to download all 350 some maps and have the computer just sync it to one of the servers.

Many Open Source projects use this to mirror each others files since it allows compression and error checking.

It can. :)

Do it up!
And add the ip to your signature or something. :) So everyone is reminded.

I'd like to see all the game servers sync to each other also.

I'm only going to bring this back if server admins commit to this project if i get it working in windows and *nix. Or if the player community will actually use it.

All my previous projects seemed to be a waste of time since no one used it.

I have almost 500 dday maps, i downloaded them one by one on all the differnet places i find.
Now, when i vote for a map that i know i have it results that my version differs from server one.
That was why i was thinkin on making just a WINRAR archive with all the bsp and textures/sounds, to offer it on the forums to standarize it on servers as well as standarize one healthy GBR dll so we can reach someday one good game with the brits and get that team played.

I belive it would be practical and better to create this super zip on Winrar and then download it.

NOTE:
polwest1????????????
polwest2????????????
polwest3????????????
polwest4????????????
Are this polmunf maps?
Are this the Reichstag, and other pol no campaign maps?

Sorry if my english sucks to bad. ty.

polwest1-4 were the original names of polmunf1-4. They can be deleted.

I think the best thing about this, from a 56k standpoint, is: you can update(dl) a little bit at a time. It would be nearly impossible for me to dl anything over 100mb at a time. Even if i had the time to dl something for 9 hours...i would probably have my connection dropped before i was done.
That's something to consider when you want to make one huge .rar or .zip.
