The missing D-Day comics

Post by Bill Stokes »

Hello all, {me waves to Afrow and Fafner}

Hope you are all doing well.

As I am now getting near the 'dodgy' end of life (53 years old now!) I am trying to put on line as much 'history' of everything I was involved in. A lot of the code is around, but here are EON_MagicMan's comics to start with.

Mac! Hope you are doing well.

I have a lot of crap on old hard drives, so I need to get off my arse and start looking at what is on them (when I ditched all the old computers, I kept the drives).

I have found this though... geez, 9 years ago! Where's the time gone? Slick must be about 25 by now :D

wow...this really makes me realise how old this community actually is... I wish I would have played it when it was popular, but 9 years ago I was barely 8 years old :(

Bloody hell! Hey Nick :) Not that much older than what I remember then ;)
I also need to check my old hard drives for D-Day stuff - shame they took FilePlanet down.

I will never forget when you let me borrow your modem (60k with integrated processor wasn't it?) I remember getting sub-200 ping for the first time using it. Made me very happy indeed. Was back in the day before ADSL when I had a shared telephone line with the school across the road.

Hey, Afrow!

I still have that modem - it was 56k. If I remember, I sent it to you via snail mail, and then when you got ADSL you sent me it back. Geez, people today do not realise what shitty internet we had back then when playing. Young people are ruined now.

Photo of it to follow :)

Yes the Days of the modems are over remember the noise they made. I started here with a 2400 then a 14.4 then 28.8 also a 33.3 then the last one was a 56k always had high ping because the phone lines around here are the original one's. Was so happy to get cable modem. Now I have two major company's fighting for my business plus they keep upping my speed at not cost. But for me now too get the 50mbps speeds I need a new cable modem with Doc 3 support and I just got this motorola SURFboard SB5100 and its doing its job just fine putting out 25mbps speeds.

Those comics were pretty funny. I was the guy getting the 'doob' shot out of my mouth. Oh the memories.

Hey guys,

Long time no see! Would you still happen to have those, Bill? The link is dead.

It must have been 10 years ago that I made them, what a trip! I would love to see them!

Sorry for the bump!

**EDIT**: I apparently joined these forums 10 years ago as of Dec 19th. Blows my mind!
