DT2 Texture Problem Solved

Post by Grinder »

metal3_side`3.wal, metal3_bed_dark.wal are the bad ones, find and remove these textures from your blindados folder in the texture dir in dday.
And dirk can ya put the map back on please,me and metalgod tested it out without those corrupt ones and it played perfect.
MetalGod is the one who found the bad ones & ran the server too test the map,so thanks man.

I'd put it back but I don't have that map. I already replaced the textures as I tried to tell you in 2 or 3 other threads. :cyclops:

edit: actually, it's back on there now and working.

Thanks Faf, but what was the source of the good replacement textures in case this happens again?

I removed those files to get the map DT2 to work and I still get a error. What program can I use to give me a list of textures in a bsp file. I tried bsp viewer but it only works on Half life bsp files.

I wrote this program a long time ago which reads textures, sprites, models etc. from BSP and MAP files but it uses .NET 1.1 so good luck getting it running. I used to use it to package my own maps. Perhaps one day I will upgrade it to .NET 3.5 or 4.

Right Stu my netframe work is now at 4 and could not run your program. Please if you could update it for us. It sounds like a great program to have and to work with the maps for D-Day.

Thank you Sprsnprchkn for the info on that. I tried that program mapspy but it only works on map file's not on bsp files unless there is something I am missing on doing to make it run?

Thank you guys for the help I was able to solve this problem and download the updated textures from Dirk's server. I was able to use both winbsp and mapspy to get the job done. But I was also playing with the bsp file of dt2 in Quark and there is a button there also to show all texture's in the bsp file. So now DT2 is now running on my server.
