Easier said than done. You can install .NET 1.1 if you have .NET 2.0 installed. You don't need to uninstall .NET 2.0

Sounds to me like you have a brush with too many points or faces. I think the max is 32.

Unlike .NET 1.1, which is backwards compatible with .NET 1.0, .NET 2.0 will not run applications writting under .NET 1.1. You need to install both .NET 1.1 and 2.0.

Which .NET version? You can see which version is installed under Add/Remove Programs. This uses .NET 1.1. I'm not sure if installing .NET 2.0 covers apps targeted at .NET 1.1 because I've always had 1.1 installed first and then installed .NET 2.0 afterwards. Edit: Did you extract all the files in th...

You need to set it to detail because otherwise it may block your view of other faces and prevent the faces being drawn (and the sky is drawn instead). It isn't mandatory though.
