Re: Interest in retexture of maps high rez?

Yup I know winbspc don't know the version, but as you say it was not 100% accurate so I could not trust it. If you ever do that, as for every game GPL and that stuff we should ask for permission to the map maker. The very least is putting their name in the loading screen... designed by... or first m...

Sounds great Mr Your No Fun, you should share map sources too :P back in the day I found really hard to learn and to find proper decompilers.

Re: DDay v5.03

I am not able to compile it due to OpenAL errors... seems the SDK available is very new.
Got an old version as well but doesn't compile either :(

Btw discovered another implementation https://github.com/yquake2/yquake2

Re: DDay v5.03

I agree, it's a great well done job for what I've seen.

It's been a long time since I don't play dday, and I could not play on the Facebook Event.
I'm a Windows user I'll try to compile EGL one of these days as it is... I don't know if you want to add any extras, as you seem to have done with Q2pro.

I don't think there's gonna be a lot of improvement with 32 vs 64 bits.

Re: Textures

Okey... so since most q2 links I found are dead... How to make the wal? I need to create textures by my own, based on real life pictures :P so I guess I'll have to play with photoshop a bit, but I remember Q2 had a reduced palette and was tricky with images. I think I'll try using just wal files for...

Textures

Hi there, I've a little doubt right now for a little personal project ;) not a dday one sry. PNG textures are not supported by quark? I do not seem to be able to open them, as it asks for pcx, or wal file for Q2. I think some Q2 engines are capable of running with PNG. So if png are "high-res" pcx a...

Re: The DDay web site

I know something of Joomla and stuff, also I'm spanish that can speak english (as you can see). Joomla can work with this forum, or at least I think so, I've always done it with SMF forum. You just need a "bridge" module/component. So forum will still the same, all you need is a good theme, add some ...

Are you making a map for this?
Well I think I don't know where to start now, maybe with time when all it's released with some tutorials I could make something... Right now I don't know where to start to configure quark for q3. I'm on vacations till 7th april, I'll try to do something ;)

Re: A way to make D-Day very popular

I've always liked this browsing type : http://www.greycube.com/ You can see it from the web, and its easy to use screenshots of maps, however it requires php sockets and other stuff. Also with a program called Qtracker just clicking on the ip launches the game. I think that's the closest we can be t...

Well that can't be so hard, depends of the idea you have and what you want in the map :P We can save some civilians, but they're not very smart following you. It can be hard. Just an scape map, in with allies try to scape. (Hardest to think about, and maybe bored to axis, rules of only killing those...

Re: Berserker engine and few questions

Well I downloaded it today, it was hard and slow, and I can't even see dday2 with lights :P its all dark. Seems Berserker uses another game dll, so using the exe and the base berserker folder doesn't seem to work. Also though I have a good computer, capable of running most Quake engines, this one is...

Re: Berserk engine and few questions

Huh I think the engine you're talking about is "Berserker" Sounds great, there are also videos in youtube running quake 2 with it. I found some forums talking about PK2 files (for another game) http://www.silkroadforums.com/viewtopic.php?t=30017 But for quake2, most pk2, pak files and stuff are just...
